Goex FFg Black Powder (or 2Fg) is suited for Muskets, Shotgun, Rifles (50-caliber and larger), Black Powder Cartridges, and large-bore Pistols. While Goex has improved manufacturing processes and material quality, they have manufactured black powder using traditional materials to provide the same great ignition characteristics and uniform speed that master shooters and hunters have relied on for over 200 years. Goex Black Powder is available in different granular sizes to tailor performance to a specific firearm. From FFFFg (smallest) to Cannon (largest), Goex has a granulation size for your firearm.

the fouling from Goex FFg stays soft and moist, especially when using a good natural lube on your patches.

Hunting in the late Pacific Northwest season means constant rain and dampness. While inline shooters with pelletized powder frequently suffer misfires in these conditions, my traditional rifle loaded with Goex FFg fires reliably every single time I pull the trigger.

If you are shooting a .50 cal or larger muzzleloader, this is the baseline standard.
gingerninja –
It doesn’t leak through the gaps of the slider like finer powders sometimes do.

There’s great peace of mind in using a product that has been the industry benchmark for decades. Goex FFg behaves exactly how the reloading manuals say it will.
boomy –
It is predictable, highly reliable, and safe when handled properly.

Don’t let the smoke fool you; cleaning real Goex FFg is a breeze. The fouling dissolves almost instantly with hot water or a basic vinegar-and-dish-soap mix. A few patches later, the bore is pristine. It’s much less sticky than synthetic black powder substitutes.

I use this FFg to load .45-70 Government cartridges for my vintage Springfield Trapdoor. It compresses beautifully inside the brass, provides excellent volumetric density, and keeps the chamber pressures perfectly safe for these old rifles. Unbeatable performance.
